Its literally almost 12hrs and we are yet to have our electrical power come back on. Sometimes i wonder how i was born here. Clearly i am not cut out for this life of suffering. Its a sunday and yet it seems like we are asking for too much just to have regular power in 2018 or at the very least an heads up or excuse..as to why this is not so. but NO. This is Naija.. Everyone is a boss. No need to explain. I sigh for like the hundredth time today... My phone batt life is at its last stage and is set to go off anytime soon....goes off just before i complete the thought and i am left now with nothing to do...sadly! Aaargh... this is so heartbreaking. I get up to go prepare dinner as bro-in law walks in. He shakes his head when he realizes there is no light and goes to turn on the Generator.
This is our life here...only God knows all what we inhale everyday and still do from different kinds of pollution. If its not generator fumes, it is car fumes or factories built in between houses.. Or even the one that is being done recently at Toll gate. Burning of public waste site in the middle of town. We are constantly being led by bad leadership and poor governance! People with clearly no regards for human life..Mtschew....
I plug in my phone as soon as other appliances come on.. Turn on my phone, scroll to IG and explore page and what do i see ? A guy proposing at ikeja mall again today . One would think that with the number of failed proposals at ICM, Nigerians will stop going there ...especially in that same spot (beside the escalator). If i didn't know better, would say that the spot is bewitched. I mean ...its ridiculous. Oh no, she slaps him repeatedly and gestures in a sign of" 'how dare u.. You to me ' u av to be kidding me". This is interesting i think . He starts to plead with her but she pushes him backward and even beckons for everyone to come closer to watch his riducule. This is so sad.. but this is what we have been reduced to. Who told you that you must copy the white man in everything ?? Why could you not propose in private ? When you are not sure of where you stand with her , why do this?. Especially in front of strangers. It was the absolute worst. I cringe in horror as she walks away after ..embarassing him.
Now this can be either way.. Its either she was a good pretender in that relationship or he thought ambushing her would make her say yes (and yeah , some men still reason this way ) or the sex was really good and clouded his judgement. Cos clearly, this shows she is not of a good character or home training cos she clearly does not respect the guy at all or at least pity him. I mean...you do not have to marry him. Just say YES and explain later . Not this public spectacle. My own pain is how is ICM not charging people for proposals? since they have clearly made it a prime location for one in recent times. Might as well make money off this stupidity. Last time was a girl proposing to a dude who walked away from her. Was super embarassing!
I am of the opinion that a proposal should be sweet and intimate if there is ever a need for one ( i am a Muslim and thus do tbings differently) and also involve only those that it concrerns ...which is u both, both families of cos and your closest friends. Why is there so much pressure now to fit in? Just like the horrible proposals, we now have baby showers, pre-wedding shoots etc. Who told you everyone is happy for you that you are advertising on social media.. You are just making it easy to be located by your village people. After now... you will say you dunno who you offended. Mysteries are always much more fun and appreciated than over-exposure. Don't u think?
Why not lay low and see how great it becomes?? I think that guy now will be careful of those he gives his energy to and who he mingles with. What do u guys think? Public or private proposals? Which rocks your boat? Lemme know

Hmm ICM proposal again..Am like really really guys.. this again and this time it goes the wrong way again. Thought to myself why ve Nigerians become insular in our ways and choose to adopt every good n bad of other nations instead.. beats me seriously.. Yes our govt no send us but 9ja still have good culture, am glad am an introvert and can't shout..
I still don't understand why someone would pretend in a relationship or how someone won't dive deep into the abyss of someone u want to spend the rest of ur days with. I mean Forever is a very long time. Then again I recall we don't all think alike, but we can learn to be hybrid of good character,moral and lots more of different part of the world.

The good thing abt the ICM proposal is that 2 wrong people won't spend the rest of their days together, we should cheer and clap to that..👏👏👏
